China Next Door Programme

Competition Rules

The School of Histories, Languages, and Cultures and the Confucius Institute at the University of Hull invite entries for a photo competition on the theme of the intercultural communication between China and Britain.

1.       Background:

China has one of the oldest civilizations and its economy has continuously been growing in the past few decades. Every year we see a great number of Chinese people arriving to Britain to study, work, live, and spend holiday. Similarly, more and more British people travel to China for similar purposes.  Whilst these two countries have their own distinctive cultural heritages, the intercultural communication has also contribute to people’s lifestyles and ways of thinking. This project aims at capturing the interaction between Chinese and British culture through photos.

China Next Door seeks photo entries which capture and (re)interpret the dynamic interaction between Chinese and British cultures and their lifestyles. Whether you think you are a professional or an amateur photographer, you can submit your photo(s) to this competition and have a chance to win an amazing prize. Continue reading “Competition Rules”
